Centri-Kid Camp Update #11

OMC, Organized Mass Chaos, is the game that Centri-Kid is famous for. The cool things about all the games they play here is that there is always a deeper meaning associated with the game. The leaders always relate the game to a Bible principle. In OMC kids are instructed to do “tasks” from giving someone a compliment to walking backwards to exchanging shoes with someone to giving high 5 with shaving cream in your hand, etc. Each task involves the help of someone else and nobody is allowed to say “no.” After all the chaos is over, the kids see that it is important to help others and important to always say “yes” to God. They also learn that God is always there to help us when we ask.

The kids are all doing great. It has been hot but we remind them to drink lots of water. I rate the temperature of the day by how many times I have to change my shirt. Yesterday was a 3 shirt day and today will be a 3 or 4 shirt day. The kids have been able to make some new friends and we have really enjoyed getting to know all of them a little better. It is amazing to hear the questions that they have about God and the Bible now that they have been totally focusing on Him for the past 4 days. Thanks for investing in your kids. We know there will be eternal benefits!!

Centri-Kid Camp Update #10

Okay, I did another highlight video (this time with some better music).  Right now the kids are at their second track time and around 4:20 p.m. they can go swimming if they choose.  It is very humid here (like every year) and we are making sure your child drinks lots of water throughout the day.  The kids are eating very well, so moms, no need to worry about your picky eaters.  I haven’t seen any and most kids are going back for seconds.  The kids today are learning about the story of Jesus bringing his friend back to life out of the book of John.  The verse for the week is John 1:14.

In our church group time we have been encouraging the kids to serve one another.  Not only the people in our group but the whole camp.  It is amazing to me that, given the opportunity, sp many kids have stepped up to be a servant.  Pray for us as we have two more days here before coming home.  Thursday night I will be talking to the kids about what it means to be baptized.  Lots of kids have questions and get confused about it so we want to make it as simple as possible for them.

Centri-Kid Camp Update #8

Another awesome night at Centri-Kid Camp!  Tonight during church group time I explained what eternal life is and how we can have it.  It is not something we can earn or work for; it is just a free gift from God.  This evening 5 kids accepted Christ as their Savior.  Then 9 more kids responded that they want to live their lives more for God and start telling their friends about what Jesus did for them.  Continue to pray for us as we work with your kids and grandkids.  Bed time is coming up soon so I will write more later.  If you are a night owl, I will post a lot of pictures from today around 11:30 p.m.

DSCF0594The kids are finishing up their track times and we will be headed off to enjoy some free time for 90 minutes.  There is face painting, sno-cones, sports, swimming and a whole lot more. The kids are having a great time! The adults are having a great time too. It has been so much fun getting to know your kids a little bit better. Time to go meet up with the kids–more later.

100_2353100_2354We had a great lunch! (You should have been here. ) You could have chicken, pizza, mexican food or sub sandwiches and of course plenty of ice cream.  At 1:15pm the kids will be going to track times where they can choose from a variety of fun activites.

Centri-Kid Camp Update #5

Church Group TimeRight now the campers are at Bible Study/Recreation time.  The next thing on the agenda for them is lunch at noon!  Let me put all your minds at ease (especially moms), your kids are eating very well.  Last night they had a choice or chicken strips, lasagna, corn, mix vegs, salad bar, hamburgers & fries, sub sandwiches, soft serve ice cream or they could dip out of the hard ice cream bins and also enjoy a multitude of cookies & cakes.  There is a great variety of awesome food so no one will go hungry.

Today the campers are learning about Jesus, the miracle worker.  This should be a very fun day for all of them.  They  just found out that they can buy water balloons 2 for $1 to throw at their leaders!!!   All money goes to the mission offering that is being collected to help the Roma people.  100_2350

We got some rain last night and on and off this morning but fun is continuing in spite of that. Keep praying for us!!
