Saturdays have been getting pretty crazy around NewSpring. The Saturday service is growing. Just last night we had over a 1000 people at Saturday XL and we had the highest total in KidzWorld except for Easter Saturday last year! And I can testify that those kids had a great time. (Side note: If you don’t have a ministry why not give Saturday KidzWorld a try. You might just find out you love it.)
As the kids were checking out, one mom stopped me and asked if she could talk to me. That usually means there is a problem. But she had good news. She told me that every morning at the breakfast table her four-year-old asks, “Do we get to go to church today?” Of course mom has to answer “no” every day. Then finally Saturday morning arrives and as the child eats his breakfast cereal he asks again, “Do we get to go to church today?” And mom gets to respond, “YES!” Her son shouts, “Yahoo!” The mother told me how much her child loves to come and learn about Jesus. In fact she said that they stopped going to church for awhile because her child didn’t want to go. Now he can’t wait to come to KidzWorld and that takes the stress off bringing her family to church. For anyone reading this, you should totally give Saturday KidzWorld a try. It’s an awesome ministry if you’re looking to get plugged in somewhere!
I just wanted to say that both of my children also ask me everyday if we can go to church. I love it! Before we started coming to NewSpring in October, we had attended another church and they only had a children’s ministry that met on most Sundays for about 30 minutes during the 2nd service. It was for children 4 and older only. My children had a good time going to church but they weren’t getting anything out of it. My mom kept telling us to come try NewSpring so in October of 08 we gave it a try. The first two services we took our children into the service with us then decided we would try KidsWorld. My kids LOVED it! We went on a Saturday night and my children who were used to going to church on Sunday asked if they could back on Sunday! The next week and there after they would sing “Life if Good” on the way to NewSpring in the car as loud as they could. I knew then that NewSpring was the right fit for us. Thank you for making my children excited to learn about God and providing a wonderful environment for them to learn and have fun!!
