It rained all last night and it is still raining this morning but we will still have fun at camp! The kids are having a blast with all the staff and counselors from NewSpring as well as the staff from Centri-Kid. Got to go to breakfast…”the most important meal of the day.”
Kids are still having a blast with all of the activities here at Centri-Kid. There is so much energy when you put 300 hundred junior kids together in 1 room. But to hear them be excited about God is awesome!
After are large group session we went to our church group devotional time. When we got into the room I started talking about what sin was and how it messed up our way to heaven. But Jesus came to save us from our sins and all we had to do is to accept Him as our Saviour.
Well, I am overjoyed to say 1 boy and 3 girls from NewSpring accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour! We are having a party in the rooms to rejoice over these precious kids decision. I would love to share who it was but we are going to let the kids tell their parents first.
Keep praying for us. Tomorrow night I will be talking to the kids about baptism and what it means to us.
Pray also we are needing to get a new battery for the bus and you can’t find them in your local Wal-mart.
Ok, it’s free time for the kids and they have a choice of many things to do. Supper will be at 5:30 so some of them are resting in their rooms and others decided to go swimming. We had a brief rain shower and it brought the temp down which was super nice. Now the sun is out and it is starting to get warm again. Keep praying for us as we will be in worship around 6:30 and then we will have group devotions tonight at 7:30. I gave the kids a question to this about while they are at camp this week. I asked them to think about the one thing God wants them to do this week. Everyone is having a great time and no one is homesick. Parents please do us a favor, unless it is an emergency please don’t continue to call your child. If a child starts to feel homesick, hearing your voice will just increase it and will not help the situation. I know you miss your kids but that is why I am trying to keep you up-to-date with this blog. More later.
Here we are doing group devotions in the morning. The kids did a great job looking up the verses and filling in their books. After devotions, they went to large group time then on to recreation/Bible Study. In just a few minutes we will meet up with all the kids for lunch. It is warm here and we are making sure your child drinks lots of water and wears sun screen. Keep praying for us as we minister to your child here at Centri-Kid.
Here we are at breakfast on Tuesday morning. Everyone looks wide awake don’t they? We have a full day of Bible study and activities ahead of us and I will post more pictures later of your kids having a great time. Pray everyday that God will speak to each of these kids in a special way this week.

All kids are doing well and had plenty to eat. Our first service was great and the kids are having a blast. Lights are out at 10:30pm so this is going to be all for right now. I promise I will write more tomorrow. Good night parents. Sleep well.
Hey everyone! We arrived at camp around 3:50 pm. All the kids are doing great! We ate dinner and are getting ready to go to the worship service. I will post more later.
We had a great time in KidzWorld today talking about humility. Kids in Route 252 and adults in the worship center were learning about the same thing in their own environments. The Bible story was about James & John and how their mother asked Jesus to put her sons in power by seating them one of the left and the other on the right of Jesus. Jesus had an answer for them and all the disciples by telling them if they wanted to be in a place of honor, they must become a servant. Our bottom line today was: “It’s important to treat others like they’re more important than you.” We have one more week of learning about humility. Pastor Mark will be teaching next week to wrap up this series.
For WaterMark weekend we got some Cosmo tattoos to pass out during the fun and games time and we thought we’d let the kids have some today in KidzWorld. They loved them, and even some of the adults had to get in on the action. We told the kids to wear them and see if people in the community ask what’s on their face. Then they can tell them that they go to KidzWorld at NewSpring Church and invite them to come and see all the great stuff we have not only for kids but for adults as well.
Tomorrow Debbie and I and nine other leaders will be taking our kids to Centri-Kid camp in Bolivar, MO. This our third year attending Centri-Kid in Bolivar and each year we have a ball with the kids and they have a fantastic time as well with the other 500 junior campers. Pray for our safety as we travel and also the opportunities to talk to the kids about spiritual matters in their lives. You can check out this blog on a daily basis for updates and pictures of what the kids are doing. Don’t forget parents, you need to be at the church at 9:30 a.m. and the bus pulls out at 10 a.m.
We are excited to say that August 17th is our sign-up to volunteer for Judgement House. If you have never heard of Judgement House it is an awesome ministry that is designed to reach out to the community. This will be our 9th year to do Judgement House and last year we had over 400 volunteers sign up to help us with this ministry. Judgement House is a walk-thru drama that portrays how the choices people make in this life affect their eternity. We need volunteers to help with drama, security, concessions, registration, counseling, prayer, tour guides, technical, runners and much more. This event is something the whole family can be involved in. Our sign-up will be Sunday, August 17 after the 11 a.m. service in the Worship Center. The meeting will start 5-7 minutes after the service. Please pick up your children first and then head back to the Worship Center. The meeting will only last about 15-20 minutes.
JH is a ministry based on prayer. Every tour group, every scene and every invitation is bathed with prayer. Will you start praying right now for the ministry of Judgement House and NewSpring Church? We don’t want to do this without the power of prayer. Pray that God will bless the script and that hearts of people will be open to the gospel. Pray for good weather during the 8 days that we will do Judgement House and also for the health and safety of the cast and crew. Last year alone, over 1400 people accepted the Lord and many are now members of NewSpring and excited about being part of the team this year.
