You are your child’s best influence!

If you are a parent, you have the awesome responsibility of taking a brand new baby who can do nothing for himself and raising that child to be a productive and hopefully, God-honoring adult. Does that seem a little overwhelming at times? Of course it does! But God has given you strategies in the Bible that can help you set your course. KidzWorld and NewSpring Church are here to help. We offer exciting environments every weekend that are designed to give kids a thirst for knowing God. Then we provide tools for parents (and grandparents or other caring adults) to use in reinforcing God’s principles. You can make the most of what your child learns in KidzWorld by taking advantage of the following:

  1. Monthly take-outs are either projects or assignments or sometimes just suggestions of how you can implement the weekend’s lessons. They are handed out as your child leaves KidzWorld usually on the first weekend of the month.
  2. The Parent Cue app is available for your mobile device for $1.99. It includes things to do during drive time, meal time, bedtime and hang time that will help you reinforce the teaching from the weekend. It has a setting for preschoolers and one for elementary age. It is a great way to catch up on what your child missed if you aren’t able to attend church. By the way, it even includes a parent time with great parenting information and tips.
  3. Studio252.tv is a website that has some similar components to the Parent Cue app but is even more interactive. There is no cost for the site and it’s fun to use.

We have some other great ways to partner with parents including JumpStart, KidzWorld FX, Baby Dedication and much more. You can find out more about these events at funliveshere.com.

Friend Weekend Recap

befunky_artwork.jpg

Hey kids and families! Friend Weekend was this past week in KidzWorld Route 252 and it was a huge success. If you missed it, Friend Weekend was a celebration that marked the ending of our Big Idea of Friendship that we discussed in June and July. The kids were asked to practice worshipping together by inviting a friend to church. We had 46 first-time guests in Route 252. That’s 46 lives that are now different because their friend invited them to church, and we think that’s invaluable. Also, since we’ve been following the adventures of a budding rock band, they were encouraged to dress like rock stars. We had some pretty rockin’ characters for sure. Each service included drawings, prizes, games, a concert, and also, the finale to a month-long friendly competition between the boys and girls. The losing team captains got a pie in the face. The girls proved formidable by winning the first three services, but the guys refused to be shut out and claimed victory during the final service.

I’d like to thank all our staff and volunteers that helped make Friend Weekend so awesome, but more importantly, I’d like to thank everyone who took time to invite their friends and family to KidzWorld this past weekend. It would not have been such a success without you.

As a side note, we also continued our KidzWorld Summer Endurance Contest this weekend. Kids were asked to take a picture with our band and email it to kidzworld@newspring.org or upload it to Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter with #kidzworldcontest. If you took a photo, but forgot to send or upload it, there’s still time to do both. Make sure you get those submissions in, because each submission gives you a chance to win one of three $100 gift cards at our Back-to-School FX event on August 22.

I hope you and your family have enjoyed our celebration of Friendship. Don’t miss our Big Idea for August as we learn about Stewardship. See you soon!

Endurance Challenge #3

kidzworldcontestbloggraphic3

Hey, KidzWorld Kids and families! If you’ve been following along with our Summer Endurance Contest, I’ve got excellent news for you. The third challenge is quickly approaching! If you haven’t been participating, now is an excellent time to start.

Our third challenge will be held during Friend Weekend, July 26th & 27th, in Route 252. In honor or our weekly bottom line, Friends Worship With Each Other, families are invited to take a picture of themselves with the band after the service. By uploading the picture to Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram with #kidzworldcontest or emailing the photo to kidzworld@newspring.org, you will be automatically entered for a chance to win one of three $100 gift cards that will be given away at the Back-to-School FX event on August 22nd. So make sure you come to Friend Weekend, and of course, bring a friend!

As a reminder, if you have photos from previous challenges that have not been uploaded yet, it’s never too late to submit them. We’re still taking photo submissions from our Summer FX in May. So if you still have those, go ahead and upload them with #kidzworldcontest or email them to kidzworld@newspring.org.

I hope you continue to have a fun, safe summer and we’ll see you in KidzWorld soon!

Friend Weekend July 26th and 27th

Hey families! We are super excited to announce Friend Weekend July 26th and 27th. All month long, your kids have been locked in a friendly Boys vs. Girls competition, and Friend Weekend will be the big finale that decides the winner. For each friend your child brings, they will earn points to help their team win and be entered to win some awesome prizes. But that’s not all! Because we’ve been following the adventures of a rock band the past few months, we’re invited all kids to dress like rock stars too. Dressing up will earn them even more points in the competition. Here’s a flyer and invitation you can download for them to use to invite their friends. Or send an email asking for more invites to Route252@newspring.org. Just make sure they fill out the invitation and bring it to Route 252 so they can be entered for the prize drawings.

Camp Update #13

Hey parents we’re wrapping up here at camp. Your kids are having a blast and they’re still learning. Today we look at Jesus’ parable of the light in Matthew 5:13-16. We’re learning that not only can we have a relationship with Jesus, as our very best friend, but we can show others how much God loves them by the way we live. It’s all summed up in our bottom line of DO GOOD THINGS SO PEOPLE CAN SEE GOD IS GOOD.
