Our starting point is a wash,
Head for the hills and cross over the rocks,
If you stop by the edge, you still need to persevere,
Turn left at the light before it turns green.

Here’s the next one to help you through,
I hope number fourteen and five are the ones you picked,
Alphabetically it will do the trick,
Running with perseverance,
Our race marked out,
Here is something to think about,
Jesus loves you with all his heart,
This is right and a great place to start.
Where in the World is Cosmo Contest Clue #1
OK families–this is it–what you have been waiting for since the weekend: the first clue in the Where in the World is Cosmo contest. Remember, the medallion is NOT located on NewSpring property. The medallion is hidden somewhere in Sedgwick county. You will NOT have to destroy any property to find it. Be safe at all times. And parents, make sure you take the opportunity to teach your kids about the Big Idea of Perseverance while you are looking….that is the whole point of this contest. If you missed Family Experience this past weekend, we introduced a brand new Where in the World is Cosmo contest where families have the chance to use clues to search for a Cosmo medallion. The family to find Cosmo first will win a fabulous set of prizes including family movie passes, Imax family movie passes, 100.00 Visa gift card for back to school shopping, waterpark passes and–just for the adults–$50.00 gift card to Red Rock Canyon Grill to celebrate your win!
If you find Cosmo you need to take a family picture in the place you find it and email it to dan.kubish@newspring.org to make your win official. Have fun as a family as you learn about Perserverance!
Clue #1
Summer is here,
How do you know,
It is time again to find Cosmo,
Taking care of business in the ICT,
You should always start central,
Nineteen, Five, Fourteen or Twenty-three,
Two together is the direction you see,
You might be scratching your head,
Thinking this doesn’t make sense,
Remember the Big Idea is Perseverance.
Invite From Mark Hoover
Good Afternoon NewSpring,
Two big things on my mind for this weekend. First, in our weekend series The Contest, we’re looking at another powerful weapon you have in your arsenal to do battle against the dark side. It’s called, “It’s Not a Fair Fight Pt. 2 Lifeline.” If you ever feel like the problems of life are too big for you to face, you’ll love this talk.
Friday night we’re celebrating a KidzWorld Watermark experience. Over thirty kids are going public with their faith in believer’s baptism. What’s really exciting is these kids have made videos of their personal journey of faith. And trust me on this, they’re awesome!
Even if you don’t have kids or grandkids participating, I want to encourage you to come experience this unique moment in the life of our church. You’ll love it, and it’ll be a huge encouragement to these kids who are taking such a bold step. It all gets started this Friday night, June 24 at 7 p.m.
See you soon,
Mark

This Weekend
Summertime is here and kids are loving being out of school and vacation plans are being made. Here at KidzWorld we are not planning to slow down during the summer; it is full steam ahead to reach boys & girls with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ. So please continue to partner with us as we help you inspire your kids to live their life for the glory of the One who created them.
This weekend there are two things you should know. First, the KidzWorld Gang is going to be at RiverFest this Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Exploration Place Park & Playground. Bring your kids and come enjoy the KidzWorld Gang as they do music, puppets, games and have lots of fun with the crowd.
Secondly, this is Family Experience weekend! Parents, please make it a priority to come hang out together as a family in 252 Theater to learn about the “Big Idea” for this month. I hear rumors that someone might be trying to fly in the 252 Theater. It is going to be 20 minutes of high energy fun and your kids don’t want you to miss it. Family Experience takes place between the services on Saturday & Sunday. I especially want to invite families with kids in Adventure Avenue to attend as well. Your children are now learning the same Big Idea as the Route 252 kids.
Have a great day!
Parents…Things You Need to Know
This weekend we will offer JumpStart. JumpStart is a 30 minute session for elementary kids to find out what it means to have a relationship with Jesus and what baptism is all about. A parent must attend with the child. If your 1st-5th grader has been asking questions about salvation or baptism, JumpStart is a great place to get those questions answered. Sessions will be offered at 4 p.m. on Saturday and 10:35 a.m. on Sunday in Adventure Avenue Theater. If you can’t make it this weekend, we will offer JumpStart again on June 11 and 12. You can get all the details and register online here.
KidzWorld Watermark will happen on Friday, June 24. This is your child’s chance to make his or her faith public through baptism. You can get details about KidzWorld Watermark here.
Promotion Information
Summer is just around the corner. As a matter of fact, some of your kids may already be out of school. At the end of the school year the question arises about when we will have promotion of kids to their new grade level in KidzWorld. This summer the promotion will happen on the first weekend in July–the 2nd and 3rd. So here are a few particulars:
5-year-olds promoting to Kindergarten: If your child is 5 or will turn 5 this summer and will attend Kindergarten in the fall, we will automatically change his/her class assignment to Kindergarten on the weekend of July 2/3. If you have a 5-year-old who will NOT attend Kindergarten this fall, please email karla.stinson@newspring.org so that assignment will not be changed.
Kindergarteners promoting to 1st grade: On the weekend of June 25/26, your Kindergartener will visit 252 Theater with his/her leader. Just drop your child off at the Fun Zone as usual and pick him or her up at the Kindergarten classroom. Then the next weekend, July 2/3, you will drop off and pick up at the 252 Theater.
5th graders promoting to 6th grade: On the weekend of June 25/26, you will drop your 5th grader off at 252 Theater. After our large group program, our leaders will walk your child over to the East Building to meet the Project 628 leadership team. YOU WILL PICK YOUR CHILD UP IN THE EAST BUILDING after that service. You will get to meet the team as well and ask any questions you may have. Then on July 2/3 your child will attend Project 628.
If you have any questions about promotion or any questions about KidzWorld in general, please email me or call me at the church. Thanks for letting us partner with you to teach your kids about God’s love.
Busy Year Ahead
So excited about this coming fall and being able to share the “Big Idea” with so many schools. It is going to be a blast!
